Lipid mediators are broadly defined as lipophilic molecules that regulate cell-cell communication events, and include (but not necessarily limited to) eicosanoids, endocannabinoids, lysophospholipids, sphingolipids, phospholipids, fatty acids, ether-linked lipids, PAF and oxidized lipids.
